The PVC/PVDC/Alum foil is a sample made from PVC (Polyvinyl chloride), PVDC (Polyvinylidene chloride), and aluminium foil. It foils made of a structure PVDC Layer laminated with a PVC layer on one side and the other side laminated Aluminium foil layer side. The PVC layers side is the inner side and the aluminium foil is the outer side. The foil is two types printed and unprinted. The printed text matter on the aluminium primer on printed text matter. The foil is used in blister packaging. The blister packaging of the pharmaceutical finished products tablets, and capsules. This foil is a barrier to the air, water, heat, moisture, and environment.
PVC PVDC Film is a type of primary packaging material. PVC (polyvinyl chloride) Foil with a PVDC (polyvinylidene chloride) coating is often used for high-performance packaging film like pharmaceutical blister packs. pharmaceutical packaging. the PVC/PVDC film for pharmaceutical packaging.
- Total Grammage:
The sample PVC/PVDC/Alum Foil is total Grammage testing cut the sample 10 x 10 cm2 or 5 x 5 cm2 area (as applicable) with the help of GSM Plate. If the sample is printed dip the cotton or cloth in ethyl acetate rub on the text matter, the sample removing text matter dry the sample at room temperature. Weighing the sample at analytical balance, calculated the total Grammage by the given formula,
Total Grammage = weight in gram x 100 or 400 (if the sample cut 10 x 10 cm2 or 5 x 5 cm2 area)
- Aluminium Grammage:
The sample of total Grammage dip in a 10 % solution of sodium hydroxide-containing glass beaker. After some time 15 to 20, the aluminium layer dissolves in solution. The remaining layer is the PVC/PVDC layer. Wash the sample in water and dry the sample in a hot air oven for 2 min at 650c. Cool the sample in a desiccator. Weighing the sample at analytical balance, calculate the aluminium Grammage by the given formula,
PVC/PVDC Layer Grammage = weight in gram x 100 or 400 (if the sample cut 10 x 10 cm2 or 5 x 5 cm2 area)
Aluminium layer Grammage = total Grammage – PVC/PVDC Layer Grammage
- PVC Layer Grammage:
The remaining sample PVC/PVDC layer Grammage dip in ethyl acetate containing glass beaker. After some time 15 to 20 min both layers separated in PVC and PVDC layer. Wash the sample in water, and dry the sample in a hot air oven for 2 min at 650c. Cool the sample in a desiccator, weigh the sample at an analytical balance, and calculate the Grammage by the given formula,
PVC Layer Grammage = weight in gram x 100 or 400 (if the sample cut 10 x 10 cm2 or 5 x 5 cm2 area)
- PVDC Layer Grammage:
PVDC Layer Grammage = weight in gram x 100 or 400 (if the sample cut 10 x 10 cm2 or 5 x 5 cm2 area)
