Selected sample of the combination of layer Glassine Paper/Alum foil/Nat Foil cut 10 x 10 cm or 5 x 5 cm with the help of a GSM plate, then weigh an analytical balance.
Total Grammage= weight in gram x 100 or 400 (if the sample cut 10 x 10 cm or 5 x 5 cm)
If the sample is printed then dip the cotton or cloth and remove the printed ink.
Dip the sample completely in acetone for 10 to 15 min poly layer separated. Dry the poly layer in a hot air oven at 750c for 1 min. cool the sample in the desiccator, weigh the sample an analytical balance
Grammage of poly layer = weight in gram x 100
Take a remaining sample and dip it in hot water for 30 minutes, using a clean cloth remove the paper, dry the aluminium layer in a hot air oven 700 c for 2 min then cool in a desiccator. Take weight in an analytical balance.
Grammage of Alum layer = weight in gram x 100
Grammage of Glassine paper layer = Total Grammage- ( GSM of poly layer + GSM of alum layer)
