This test applies to lacquered and latex, lacquered aluminium tube
A) Power of Adhesion test
Regent- Acetone
- Selected 5 samples of aluminium tube
- Cut the tube along the length and flatten it.
- Dip the cotton wool in acetone and rub it on the flattened tube
Lacquered shall not lift from the surface and the cotton wool shall remain colorless
B) Flexibility test
- Selected five samples of Aluminium tube
- Take a sample cut it in the open end and make it a flat sample
- The external surface is on the outside.
- Sharpen the fold by passing it between the finger and fingernail.
- Repeat the procedure 3 times at different places on the tube
- The result the external surface coating must not peel off when the sharpened fold is rubbed with the fingers & fingernail.
C) Lacquer uniformity test
Uniformity of lacquer on aluminium tube check against the specimen card or standard shade card of aluminium tube
