Corrugated cartons are mainly made from 3ply layer corrugated layer.
- Selected the sample Cut the sample 10 x 10 cm with the help of a GSM plate
- Dip the sample in warm hot water in the beaker for 10 to 15 min
- After some time all layers are separated
- Carefully sample collected in aluminium foil
- Dry the sample in a hot air oven at 1050c for 10 to 12 min till the sample is dehydrated.
- Take the weight the sample at the analytical balance and record the reading
- Calculated the GSM by the below formula
Grammage= sample weight x 100 (if the sample cut 10 x 10 cm)
