- Take a selected sample of Alum/adhesive/PVC Film. Cut the sample into 10 x 10 cm or 5 x 5 cm it’s suitable with the help of a GSM Plate. Weight the samples one by one on an analytical balance. Its reading records it.
- Total Grammage = weight in grams 100 or 400 (if the sample is cut 10 x 10 cm or 5 x 5 cm)
- Take the total Grammage sample and dip it in a beaker containing acetone (or ethyl acetate), we ensure the sample is completely dipped in regent. After 15 to 20 min, we check the intermittency whether the PVC layer is separated or not.
- After the Aluminium and PVC layers are separated the sample is collected. Dip in ethyl acetate rub on the adhesive then remove the adhesive. The sample is dried in a hot air oven for 5 minutes in both layers. Then cool at room temperature. Take the weight of the aluminium layer and PVC layer and record the weight
- Grammage of PVC Layer = weight in gram x 100 or 400 (if the sample is cut 10 x 10 cm or 5 x 5 cm)
- Grammage Of Aluminium layer = weight in gram x 100
